U.S. actor and playwright Jeremy O Harris, best known for the award-contending production Slave Play, was detained in November at an international terminal in Japan on allegations involving trying to bring in illegal drugs into the country, authorities announced.

The 36-year-old was stopped on 16 November at Naha airport, situated in Okinawa, after a customs officer discovered 0.78 grams of a crystal material laced with the synthetic narcotic MDMA in his tote bag, as stated by a official statement.

Regional customs officials filed a criminal accusation with the prosecutor’s office to initiate legal action against the individual.
