The English squad will embark on their Euro 2028 journey at the the home of Manchester City, assuming they secure the relatively straightforward passage for a championship staged throughout the bulk of Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

City’s stadium has not welcomed an England men’s fixture since May 2016, when the visitors were beaten 2-1 in a warm-up game, but is almost certain to host the Three Lions for their first match on a Saturday in June 2028.

The team are scheduled to play their concluding group fixtures at Wembley, but, in the event of winning Group B, their last-16 tie would occur at the Newcastle stadium. Placing second would mean commencing the knockouts at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Championship Launch and Demonstration

The tournament was launched at an gathering in Piccadilly Circus on the previous evening. The qualification draw will be held in Belfast, which was removed as a host city last year when it became clear Casement Park could not be renovated in time, on a date in late 2026.
