Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
