Sovereign to Broadcast First-Hand Statement on Illness in Nationwide Address

King Charles has filmed a personal message concerning his journey with cancer, scheduled for transmission as part of this year's Stand Up To Cancer campaign, spearheaded by Cancer Research UK and a television broadcaster.

The royal household confirmed the King would discuss his "healing process" as a cancer patient, in a televised statement on Friday at 20:00 GMT.

The address, filmed within his London residence recently, will stress the critical nature of routine screenings to ensure more people detect the condition at an initial point.

This will be a rare update on the health of the Monarch, who has been undergoing regular treatment since his condition was announced in the start of 2024. However, it is believed doubtful the King will identify his type of cancer.

Awareness Core Mission

The awareness campaign each year generates donations for scientific studies and treatment and urges people to get check-ups to improve the chances of an prompt identification.

The King's relative openness about his health challenge, and his experience as a patient, has been designed to raise awareness and to persuade more people to get tested - and this will be advanced with this exceptional royal involvement.
